FCA STEM Partnership

Tri-Central Elementary partners with Fiat Chrysler Automotive to provide real-world STEM opportunities in manufacturing for our students and staff. Each year our 3rd graders go to the World Class Manufacturing Academy and work on a bike assembly line similar to what they see at the Tipton plant where workers assemble transmissions. Third graders practice problem solving, teamwork and learn more about jobs available in manufacturing. Our 4th graders take a technical outreach trip to the local Kokomo Training Center where they work with skilled trades men and women on virtual welding, robotics, trade tools, pulley systems and motion economy. Our 5th graders return to the FCA facility in Tipton to learn more about metal casting, robotics and the manufacturing process. Before trips begin, staff are invited to the Academy in Tipton to experience what their students will be learning.
Tri-Central is very fortunate to have FCA as our partner in STEM. To view pictures and learn more about our trips, please check out the STEM section of our website.
