Welcome to TCE Counselor Corner!
Tri-Central Elementary School's Counseling program is a comprehensive guidance and counseling program. The program is organized and implemented by a school counselor, Taylor Louie. The role of the School Counselor at TCE is to help all students in three interrelated areas: academic achievement, social emotional development and career development. Additionally, the School Counselor collaborates with educators, staff, parents/guardians and community partners to maximize students' academic success and overall well-being.
Academic Achievement
Develop attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary for effective learning (time management, organization, study skills)
Apply critical-thinking skills to make informed decisions
Identify short and long-term goals related to areas of interest and long-term college and career plans
College and Career Readiness (CCR)
The IDOE describes College and Career Readiness as having the knowledge, skills and abilities to succeed in postsecondary education and future career opportunities.
Even with our youngest learners, we begin the process of creating career awareness and exploration and learning about employability skills.
Social Emotional Development
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions.

The National White Collar Crime Center has created new online cyberbullying training for parents, educators and law enforcement. This 30 minute interactive training program addresses ways to cope with and respond to cyberbullying, including effective strategies for empathy, communication, and incident reporting. The trainings is brief, practical, and is available online here:

Access Pass Program Partnership
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis, Conner Prairie Interactive History Park, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, NCAA Hall of Champions, and Indiana Historical Society have joined forces to make fun family learning available to more Indiana families. Families that participate in any of the state assistance programs listed below can visit these locations for just $1 per family member per visit.

Required documents
Hoosier Healthwise or Hoosier Works Enrollment Recertification Letter, issued by the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration. Letter must be issued in the primary adult cardholder name and verify program enrollment for the current year.
Indiana State Issued photo ID card, either a Driver’s License or State Identification card. The name on the photo ID must match an adult name on the recertification letter. Employee and Student IDs or out-of-state IDs will not be accepted.
To enroll in or renew an existing Access Pass, qualifying families can visit any of the venues listed below with required documentation and completed Access Pass application. Qualifying adult must be present when enrolling or utilizing benefits. Discount will not be honored if required documentation verifying enrollment eligibility is not available. (Download Policies)
